Here in the UK, the monthly kids' magazine for Transformers published by Signature has been running for seven years and counting. Despite being an undying monster of a thing that has long outlived every part of the franchise it originally represented, only sporadic effort has been put into documenting it in the wider fandom.In fandoms like Transformers, even the most mundane tat created to make a quick buck off kids tends to be exhaustively documented. Despite this, these things are so disposable that even the wiki barely acknowledges them.
A friend of mine, Stuart Webb, has dutifully bought, read and documented every single issue since 2015 here, making him the world's foremost expert on this shambling zombie of a rag. But not even he has bothered keeping track of the cheapo toys they come with. Because I am a ridiculous person with too much time on my hands, I have decided to see if I can pick up any of the slack by collecting all the scattered sources I can find into a central reference list. Tat or not, toys are toys, and if just for the sake of completeness I think there ought to at least be some kind of list of the characters who got figures.
On the below pages, you will find a record of as many of the free toys given out with this comic as I can definitively document. (Needless to say, it's a work in progress.) Any photos included are either from Stuart, wholesale websites, or the only other blog I've found who has documented any of them in any detail. These will all be linked directly to where they were originally documented.
